The Auditorium at GIIS KL came alive with energy, color, and cultural reverence during the Language Parent Engagement Program, themed “My Country, My Pride.” Organised to commemorate Language Day, the event brought together the school’s vibrant community to celebrate linguistic diversity, foster active parent engagement, and instill a deep sense of national pride among young learners in Grades 1 and 2.

The event commenced with a warm welcome and an insightful introduction setting the stage for an engaging day of performances and learning. Opening the show, the enthusiastic Grade 1 students took the audience on a cultural journey by delivering oral presentations on the National Symbols of India in Hindi and Tamil. Displaying commendable linguistic awareness, they also showcased their local connection by presenting insightful details about Malaysia in Bahasa Melayu.

Building on the morning's momentum, the Grade 2 students captivatingly staged a role play entitled “My Country, My Pride.” Through vivid portrayals of various inspiring national personalities, the young performers demonstrated impressive confidence and expression. The atmosphere grew even more lively as the combined talents of Grades 1 and 2 harmonized in an uplifting group song performed in French and Mandarin. The event seamlessly integrated interactive parent language fun games, ensuring that family members actively participated alongside their children.

Behind the scenes, the program was meticulously guided by the dedicated Language Department faculty, including Hindi teachers Ms. Sapna Puri and Ms. Rashi, Tamil teachers Ms. Yogasundari and Ms. Amutha, French teacher Mr. Omar, Bahasa Melayu teacher Ms. Siti, and Mandarin teacher Ms. Amy.

Aligned with the school's holistic 9 Gems educational framework, specifically focusing on Visual and Performing Arts, Personality Development, Community and Care, and Skill Development, the celebration went beyond traditional learning. It offered students a hands-on opportunity to sharpen their communication skills while honoring global citizenship. Furthermore, the initiative reinforced vital United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, advancing Quality Education (SDG 4), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) by building bridges between cultures and strengthening school-parent collaboration.
